We assist clients in negotiating and drafting employment agreements and executive service agreements. Executive service agreements, in particular, must be drafted and structured carefully to minimize the risk of officers and executives asserting statutory protection intended for regular employees.
We help clients ensure that their employment practices meet all local standards. Our services include drafting, reviewing, and implementing the rules of employment and other labor-related policies, conducting on-site occupational safety audits, running employee training sessions, and fulfilling such other statutory requirements on behalf of the company.
Taking disciplinary action against employees or discharging executives carries the risk of escalating into a labor dispute, but it is sometimes unavoidable. We assist foreign corporate HQs with in-house investigation of employee or executive misconduct, and with taking appropriate aftermeasures on their behalf.
We have considerable experience in representing companies in labor disputes both in and outside of court, including wrongful termination suits and union negotiations. As Korean labor regulations are typically geared toward the protection of employees’ rights, we work to ensure that the company's interests are also sufficiently protected.
